MAD tip for April
It’s time for Spring Cleaning! As we go through our closets and discover clothes we haven’t worn in a while, instead of leaving them there donate them to organizations helping some of the neediest people in the Greater Boston area. If you have clothes to donate please consider donating them to Starlight Ministries (for men’s clothes) or Rosie’s place (for women’s). If you need help getting your donations to these places, please contact MAD at mad@highrock.org.
Paul Borthwick suggests that each year we put a tag (a piece of paper, tape or a twist tie) on our clothes hangers. When we wear the item on the hanger, we tear the tag off. At the end of the year any clothes left still tagged are given away. We invite you to consider taking this small step in tagging your clothes to Make A Difference in the lives and wardrobes of the needy around Boston.

It is difficult to recognize how wealthy we are relative to the rest of the world. Visit www.globalrichlist.com and type in your annual income. This will give you a good idea of how rich you are compared to the rest of the world. We should take time to thank God for the things that He has given us. Think through how God has provided for you and take some time now to thank Him for the ways He has worked in your life. 4 months agoMAD tip for February
Make a budget of how you spend your money, not how you want to spend your money. Look for ways to cut out spending so that you can give the money elsewhere. For example, instead of spending $5 a week on coffee, brew your own coffee and save that $5 to give to an organization working with the poor around the world. That would be $20-$25 a month, $260 a year, $7,800 over 30 years that you could give away! That’s all from cutting out Starbucks, Dunkin’ Donuts, etc.
Organizations you could consider giving to include World Vision, Bread for the World or Compassion International.
